CONTENTS
The course presents the relation between fracture orientation, fluid flow and tectonic stress field summarized by meanings of hydrotectonics. The three dimensional modelling and imaging of such fractures and faults within the geological body of an aquifer system is demonstrated and exercised. The goal of the course is to evaluate and to understand the preferential flow along distinct structures in 3D space. The basic data for the exercises come from the Central Algarve Basin whereas the applied software is the 3D modelling software earthVision of Dynamic Graphics Inc. (USA).
The course is to be attended by geoscientists, engineers, hydrogeologists and environmental professionals.
